It was around noon, and I was standing outside the Roastery of Coffeedence.
From the glass windows I could see Chris K. wearing the earphones, waiting with anticipation to hear the 1st roasting crack of Kenya Kirimara Specialty Coffee.
He was so concentrated in the procedure that he didn’t realize my entrance.
Waiting in the corner of theState of the Art Laboratory I was thinking what brew method this coffee is best suited for.Chris has almost finished the sample roasting. “Is this for Brewing ?”, I said out loud trying to establish my presence. Probably a little bit louder than both of us expected!
The basket of 1.5kgr roasted Kenya had fallen down from Chris’ hands and hundreds of roundedcoffee beans, had spread down, onto the floor. Oooohhh! … he shouted outloud. For a moment we both stood still and then we started laughing loudly while picking up every single bean of coffee, with our hands to through it away! Such a waste!
A glass of Syrah in a cosy wine bar nearby, was the perfect way to sum up the day. After the third amazing glass of wine Chris had a poetic delirious! Without losing a second I took out my scrapbook and started writing down his words:
“Like the coffee beans which were spread down to the floor, and roll .. and roll …and roll like a Rolling Stone.
That’s the same way, like an he explosion of aromas and flavors of a Specialty coffee, that spread into our mouth and our body, reaching our minds through senses. That is the philosophical answer why the coffee beans are round. They look and act like a wheel.
A wheel that never stops rolling and is always moving.
Rolling! not stagnant, not conservative, not dead, but alive.
Rolling is the ideology of coffee people. Living with Coffee is like living with a rolling stone!
For sure “We are coffee rockers and we live with Coffeedence !”
And the pick-up of this classy winebar started playing ….. Like a rolling stone, by Bob Dylan, Unplugged
…please enjoy with Coffeedence!
